Shetu: Tech Startup Accelerator

The project will provide bright young minds, with a focus on ensuring female participation, with the mentorship, funding, and infrastructure support they need to bring their ideas to fruition.  Through these activities, the project will create a strong and sustainable infrastructure supporting the tech startup community in Bangladesh.

Activities:

  1. Pitch2Win: Tech startups have two minutes to pitch their business idea to a panel of judges. The winner is awarded Tk. 50,000 ($633) to pursue their idea and an invitation to participate in Shetu’s mentorship program, Uddokta Bondhu (“My Entrepreneur Mentor”).

 

  1. Code2Win: Programmers team up to showcase their talent by solving an assigned problem in the most innovative and efficient way. The winning team is awarded Tk. 50,000 ($633) to implement their solution and an invitation to participate in Shetu’s mentorship program, Uddokta Bondhu.
  2. CodeFest: CodeFest is a non-stop, 3-day competition where those with innovate business ideas can pitch those ideas, form collaborative teams to produce a demo or business presentation and compete to win startup funds. The winning team is awarded Tk. 50,000 ($633) to initiate their business and an invitation to participate in Shetu’s mentorship program, Uddokta Bondhu.
  3. Uddokta Bondhu (“My Entrepreneur Mentor”): The 16-week mentorship program and requirement for receiving startup funds. Led by top-level professors and business people experienced in entrepreneurship, the program is a boot camp for tech entrepreneurs to refine their ideas, learn about marketing and finance and to develop critical enterprise skills before launching their businesses.
